🌟 Our Responsible Dachshund Breeding Program
Each of our planned breedings is carefully selected to improve health, structure, and temperament. We often keep a promising puppy from each litter to continue our line of exceptional Miniature Dachshunds — enhancing the breed with every generation.
Our puppies are born and raised in our home where they receive round-the-clock care, affection, and socialization. At three days old, dewclaws are removed, and puppies are handled daily to ensure early bonding and confidence.
To safeguard their health, we follow a precise wellness schedule:
- Deworming at 21, 31, and 41 days of age
- First combination vaccinations at 8 weeks
- Each puppy goes home with a detailed health record, including vaccination and worming history, plus guidance for the next six months
We welcome new families to pick up their puppies at 8 weeks of age, or later if transportation is arranged. For safety, we never ship puppies before they reach 12 weeks old.
💉 Identification, Health & AKC Integrity
All Nuforest Dachshunds are microchipped for permanent identification — a practice we’ve proudly maintained since the 1980s. We also participate in AKC DNA testing programs, reinforcing the integrity of our pedigrees and the trust our reputation is built on.
Our companion Dachshunds are placed with Limited AKC Registration, while puppies intended for show or breeding are available with Full AKC Registration, subject to approval.

Beyond breeding, we believe in helping Dachshunds in need. Our Dachshund rescues are typically priced at $250, spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and ready for loving homes. We’re proud to provide lifelong guidance and support for all our Dachshund families.
Transparency is a cornerstone of our program. Each puppy sale includes a written contract that outlines our guarantees and the responsibilities of new owners. Every puppy also goes home with a 5–6 generation pedigree, listing Champions, AKC numbers, and coat colors/patterns.
🏡 Caring for Your Dachshund Puppy
We recommend protecting your puppy with veterinary health insurance from DVM VPI or a wellness plan from Banfield Veterinary Hospitals.
Each puppy’s “go-home” package includes:
- A starter supply of NuVet vitamins
- A small bag of our premium puppy food
We encourage owners to maintain a high-quality diet and a consistent supplement routine for lifelong health.

For approved breeding programs, we offer select stud dogs known for their superior genetics, temperament, and AKC titles. We also provide fresh or frozen semen shipping worldwide, with long-term storage available through the Canine Cryobank.
