Bill and Susan

Once again, Buddy won the hearts of the Downey Fire Department 🚒 in serving them Full Mimi Thanksgiving Dinners 🦃

They love seeing him sit and lay down in his firefighter shirt for treats!  I let them give BUDDY the commands which warms their hearts!

May you both and your family have a blessed Thanksgiving Dinner!  We are thankful for YOU!

Love

John, Lisa and BUDDY

Hazel

Dear Susan and Bill,

We wanted to thank you for more than 15 years of love with our precious Hazel. Billy, my husband (well, boyfriend at the time), reached out in 2007 asking if you had a dachshund puppy that was a smooth coat with a chocolate nose. To our amazement, you replied you had just the puppy, and the rest is history.

Hazel had the most incredibly soft fur; her mom (short hair) and dad (long hair) created a plush coat. She had the best temperament and the proudest walk. Folks would ask if she was a show dog, she wasn’t, but you could tell she came from a proud lineage. Hazel never had any health issues, even when she passed away this past October 2022. Her vet of 15 years said she was a shining example of a senior dog.

Hazel has stayed a San Diego doggie her whole life, and we even did regular meet-ups with the San Diego Dachshund Club – a great community of those who love Dachshunds.

Thank you, Susan and Bill, for answering our email, inviting us to your home (showing us Hazel’s mom and dad), and providing us with an unforgettable family member. Hazel had a long and happy life with us because you guys are passionate about what you do.

Forever grateful,

Tiffany, Billy, Sean, and Preston

Victor

Hi! I got my dog Victor from you guys back in 2005. He passed in 2020. He was an incredible guy. He traveled with me everywhere because he was service dog certified. Everyone fell in love with him.

I am interested in getting another long-haired dachshund. Hopefully, he wouldn’t look exactly like Victor as there is no replacement, but he was one of the most handsome dachshunds ever.

His parents were Boris, and I want to say, Gerta?? I barely remember. Is there a way I could get a descendent of his?

I will be on the west coast in May:)

Thank you for your time.

Varnai

Hi Bill and Susan,

Thank you for delivering the puppy yesterday. It was great to see you again, Bill. Hope you both have a good trip.

Yogi (kids decided on this name, Archie was another contender) is being very good. He has been eating and drinking well. Playing a lot and slept okay-ish!

Leotie is still a bit skeptical of her new brother but will come around soon, I’m sure.

We will send updates as he grows.

Thanks

Marcus

Gus

Hi Susan and Bill. Happy Fourth from Shawn and Carol H. . Yesterday, our pup Gus was 1 year old. While he is more wooly than silky-haired he is 100% dachshund! Smart, fun, affectionate, and very enthusiastic! Thank you again for helping bring Gus into our family!

Tyrannosaurus Rex

Hi Bill and Susan,

My family wanted you to know that Rexx was laid to rest last night.  He was the best dog, and we are so happy to have found you and, therefore, this amazing dog. He made it 17.5 years, he was spoiled, and he was loved.  Thank you for this incredible dog who gave us so much joy for such a long time.

We think that one should always pick the dog on the bottom of the puppy pile, he’s calm, happy, and maybe lives the longest.

Until we meet again,

Lucy S.
