At Nuforest Miniature Dachshunds, our love for the breed goes far beyond the show ring. While our primary focus is breeding and exhibiting AKC Champion Miniature Dachshunds, we also open our hearts and homes to Dachshunds in need of a fresh start.
From time to time, we come across wonderful Dachshunds—often retired adults or rescues—who are seeking loving, permanent homes. These dogs may come to us through no fault of their own: changes in family situations, owners moving, or older dogs retired from showing or breeding who simply deserve a life of leisure on someone’s couch.

💕 What You Can Expect from a Nuforest Rescue
Each rescue or rehomed Dachshund placed through Nuforest receives:
- Comprehensive veterinary examination
- Vaccinations and deworming as needed
- Spay or neuter (for non-breeding homes)
- Microchip for permanent identification
- Lots of affection and socialization before going to their new family
Typical adoption fees for our rescues are modest (around $250), covering veterinary care and preparation for adoption.
