Wasti is a wonderful dog full of energy and love. I walk him every day in the park and everybody there loves him. He got all his shots a long time ago and is registered with the AKC. He is an absolute sweetheart with a beautiful face and guess what, he sleeps in my bed.
Hello, Folks! We received your 6 month reminder postcard and I am happy to say we have completed everything on the card except getting her neutered.
Wow, what a pistol she is! It’s nice to have a companion dog for her to play with (more like own). We have a Papillon (Mona) that is twice her size and our little Mouse runs the show. Sometimes Mona has to get away so we put her in our son’s room to catch her breath!
She is a wonderful pet and is finally figuring out the potty thing outside. She is starting to go out on her own now to go which is a God send! Started out getting up a few times in the middle of the night for weeks, it seemed but it’s getting better and I’m getting regular sleep now! They are a tough breed to train, we’ve had one before, but worth every penny. She is adorable and we love her so much.
She loves to tear stuff up so we have to keep important stuff on the counter now so she can’t get it – we forgot how mischievous puppies can be, it’s been years since our last one. Just wanted to drop a line to let you know our little baby is fine and I attached a pic I like to call ‘I’m Done!’ Hope you enjoy.
Thanks so much for all the knowledge you transferred to me – it has made a world of difference raising this little one.
Hi Bill & Susan, Thank you so much for delivering Frank E. I hope you had a smooth rest of your journey.
Frank-E is so sweet and obviously very smart. He settled in here immediately. He knows exactly where to get busy – not one accident. He is definitely a people dog – very happy as long as we are close by which is sort of surprising as I imagined that he spent 99% of his time with Mom and litter-mates. He sure knows how to be comfy!
Hi Susan! Nicole and Dave here from San Jose. Hope you are both well. We bought Mister Peanut 12 years ago at 6 months old and then visited while in town a few years later. We are ready for our next mini wire – male red or wild Boar.
New pictures for you. This picture is Klaus, he’s 12 now! I feel so blessed that he’s still with me, that being said, since he turned 12, he’s gotten, not destructive but he’s getting up on furniture that he shouldn’t be jumping down from! I keep a chair in the bathroom doorway, to keep him from shutting the door, he would go in and take the towels off the bars and then my bathrobe off the back of the door.
So his age is 12 but he acts like a 3 year old! He’s so spry! Never a dull moment.
I think this is such a good picture of Klaus, he sure is handsome! Klaus is doing well, still very active for an 8 year old. He did well in the snow, I’m still trying to get the video of him in the snow off my phone. He likes the snow but not the rain. We got 19″ snow a couple weeks back, it wasn’t bad but I had to carry him through the snow to the street before I could put him down so he could do his business, they were slow to clear the sidewalks! It’s snowing now but we won’t get any accumulation.
I wanted to update you on how little Fritz is doing. Potty training is going quite well. Don’t know of any dog we have ever trained sans accidents. He doesn’t mind the elements — snow and rain (see attached). Socialization w/ the big dogs is in progress. Lucy, the 4+ Weimi plays with him wonderfully, but the older (~9+) Dobbie still remains the “fun police”.
In short as you might expect he has captured our hearts and taken over the household. Two questions/requests. Marieluise would like to have photos of what his parents looked like when they “grew up”. Secondly, would it be possible to get the emails of the people who have his litter mates so we could compare notes. We have done this before with Labrador pups and it is always fun.
My husband and I purchased a wirehair from you in 2010. We named her Cricket and she was an absolute joy. Picture attached. Sadly, we lost her to cancer last March. We are interested in the possibility of bringing a new dachshund into our family and were wondering whether you had any wirehair litters planned in 2020. Any information is appreciated. Sincerely -Margaret
Susan,
I thought you would like to see some photos of Chicha I took this morning.
She has finished her first puppy kindergarten classes. It is very clear to me that it is me who need the classes more that her.
We’ve had the greatest time making her a part of our lives. Ricky and his mother took care of her while I was working on a landscape project in Greece for a month. When I came back she learned to whimper in the most pathetic way for attention. you would think she had her paw cut off or something. After the second time of reacting to it to see if it was something, I am reconditioning her to behave normally.
We live 1/2 block from Melrose Av. Chicha is very popular. All the shop owners know her name, not ours! There are a few Latin shop owners and they think it is so funny we call her Salchicha. A few weeks ago KJLA a local Spanish language TV station was interviewing the girls at the shop and they saw Chicha on a walk with Ricky and they wanted to introduce the dog to their viewers, so Chicha is a local celebrity.
Owner Brad Austin found a “pupkin” peeking out at him from his “Hallo-wiener pupkin” pile… His little wire girl, Chica.
Ricky is the prime walker so he comes back with all the stories, I think the walks are more for him personally but Chicha benefits. He tells me there is another mini-wire of yours in the next neighborhood, Hancock Park, but he didn’t get the name.
Hope you have a great 4th weekend and again Thank you!
Brad A. and Ricky R.
This NUFOREST youngster shows a perfect miniature Dachshund foot and a wonderful harsh tight red wire coat. The dog attached to the feet and wearing the hair is called Chicha and is she is now owned & photographed by Brad Austin.
Brad Austin and his little mini wirehair, Chicha sent us greetings from their Christmas Holiday in Chicago.
Burrrr, bet Chicha is glad she didn’t go to the groomer’s BEFORE her visit to the snow.
Chicha out for a walk in Chicago’s Winter-Wonderland..
